Scope of Practice

I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations of children, adolescents and adults learning to:

  • respond skillfully to emotional distress, including guilt, shame, stress, anxiety and depression

  • manage self-harming behaviours and suicidal ideations

  • process grief and loss

  • adjust to unexpected and expected life transitions

  • manage parenting demands and expectations

  • respond to the needs of caregivers and siblings (see below)

Areas of Special Interest

Recognizing gaps within social services, I have  pursued specialized knowledge and training to better support the needs of those who experience Autism Spectrum Disorders with/without co-occurring mental health challenges, including anxiety and depression. In doing so, I have worked closely with families, including caregivers, siblings as well as multi-disciplinary support providers. More recently, I have developed a special interest in connecting to those affected by chronic illness and disability, including dysautonomia.
